How to add Seeda tracking code

Adding our Seeda Tag is simple and should take you less than a minute

The Seeda tracking code is unique to your account and allows us to monitor your traffic and customers securely. This enables you to understand the customer journey and improve marketing ROI.

Copy your Seeda tracking code

  • Your tracking code is sent to you in the welcome email 
  • After your first login, your code will always be available in your account section
  • Copy the tracking code as shown in the email or account section 

Install the tracking code on a Shopify site

  • Follow the steps above to copy the Seeda tracking code from your Seeda account or welcome email.
  • Log in to your Shopify admin dashboard.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Online Store > Themes.
  • Click the Actions dropdown menu and select Edit code.
  • Select the theme.liquid file for your theme.
  • Paste your Seeda tracking code just after the opening  <head> tag in this file.
  • In the upper right, click Save.

 

Install the tracking code on your website

To install the tracking code, paste the code after the opening <head> tag and before the closing </head> tag in the HTML code for each page of your site. To verify Once you've installed the tracking code,  go to any page on your website, then right-click and select 'View page source or View source. Scroll down, and you will see the Seeda tracking code.

The following sections may also help if you're using a specific content management system.

Please note:  Most websites are structured differently, so these steps might not be exact for your website. If you're not sure how to access your HTML code, contact a website expert or search online for instructions specific to your site.

Install the tracking code on a WordPress website

You can manually install the Seeda tracking code:

  • Follow the steps above to copy the Seeda tracking code from your Seeda account or welcome email.
  • Log in to your WordPress account.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Appearance > Editor.
  • In the list of theme files on the right side of the editor, select your Footer.
  • Paste in the tracking code and select Update File.

Please note:

  • If your website is hosted on WordPress.com, you will not be able to add the Seeda tracking code to your website unless you are on their Business plan. The other plans (e.g., Premium, Personal) do not allow users to add any JavaScript code.

Install the tracking code on a Magento site

Follow the steps above to copy the Seeda tracking code from your Seeda account or welcome email. Then follow Magento's design user guide for instructions on installing third-party JavaScript code in the Header HTML.



Install the tracking code on a Wix site

Use the App Market in Wix to add an HTML widget to your page:

  • Follow the steps above to copy the Seeda tracking code from your Seeda account or welcome email.
  • Navigate to your Site Manager.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Tracking and Analytics.
  • Click Custom or Add new tool > Custom.
  • Paste the tracking code in the “Paste code snippet here” field.
  • Set the “Name” of the new tool to Seeda Tracking Code.
  • Under “Add Code to Pages” click the radio button for “All pages” and use the dropdown menu to select Load code on each new page.
  • Under “Place Code in” section, click the radio button for the “Body - end” option.
  • Click Apply to save your changes.



Install the tracking code on a Squarespace site

  • Follow the steps above to copy the Seeda tracking code from your Seeda account or welcome email.
  • Log in to your Squarespace account.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Settings.
  • In the “Website” section of the menu, navigate to Advanced, then select Code Injection.
  • Paste the tracking code into the “Header” field.
  • In the upper left, click Save.

Follow the steps above to copy the Seeda tracking code in your Seeda account. Then follow Magento's design user guide for instructions on installing third-party JavaScript code in the Header HTML.

Please note:  You CANNOT install the tracking code on Google Tag Manager. Our uniquely designed code provides a much broader and deeper set of data which is one of the key reasons Seeda is able to provide such value.
